3.2.2. Users

The SocrateCloud users are automatically added as MicroStrategy users as long as they are linked to a role that is a group in MicroStrategy.

SocrateCloud - MicroStrategy Users Correspondence

Adding Users

A user is added automatically to MicroStrategy when it is has been assigned a role that is a group in MicroStrategy. The user is added according to the previously mentioned correspondence. If a user in SocrateCloud does not have an e-mail address it will not benefit from the MicroStratey integration.

Modifying Users

The users that have been assigned a role that is a group in MicroStrategy are automatically synchronized with their correspondent in MicroStrategy. Any user modification brought to a correspondence element will be automatically synchronized to the MicroStrategy user.

From the SocrateCloud interdace you cannot see whether a user is also a MicroStrategy user. This can only be done by verifying whether any of the assigned roles is a MicroStrategy group and if the user has an e-mail address.

If you erase the e-mail address of a SocrateCloud user who has at least one role that is a MicroStrategy group, then this user will automatically be removed from MicroStrategy. Similarly, if a SocrateCloud user does not have an e-mail address but has at least one role which is a group in MicroStrategy, then, the moment you enter an e-mail address, this user will automatically become a MicroStrategy user.

When a user becomes inactive, it will automatically be erased from MicroStrategy. On the other hand, when a user is activated and has at least one role that is a group in MicroStrategy, this will automatically be added to MicroStrategy.

Note: When a MicroStrategy user is automatically erased, the profile folder of this user will not also be erased. This means that nothing this user has created in the "My Personal Objects" folder from every project will be deleted. Other users will still be able to use these directly from MicroStrategy Desktop or Web, but not from SocrateCloud. It is also possible for a user with administration rights in MicroStrategy to copy these into another folder so that other SocrateCloud users may see them. Furthermore, if you later create another user with the same login and name, this will have all the objects from the previous profile available in the "My Personal Objects" folder.
