6.6.2. Excisable Product Setup

The products defined in SocrateCloud, that are required to have their excise amount computed when exiting the fiscal warehouses, need to be declared as excisable products. In order to do this, it is necessary to make some further settings in the Product window, located in the Product Setup menu:

• enter the conversion rate from basis UOM to excise UOM;

• assign the excisable product key.

In order to introduce the conversion rate in the UOM Conversion tab press the button and complete the fields:

• UOM - choose from the list the basic unit of measure for the product;

• UOM To - choose from the list the unit of measure with which you wish to compute the excise;

• Multiply Rate - enter the ratio of UOM To over UOM;

• Divide Rate - automatically computed, depending on the value entered in Multiply Rate;

• UPC/EAN - (Universal Product Code / European Article Number) - optionally, you may enter the bar code for the product;

• SKU - (Stock Keeping Unit) - optionally you may enter a user defined stock keeping unit.

In order to assign the excisable product key in the Excise tab, press the button and complete the fields:

• Excise Product Key - choose the key from the list, depending on the defined product type;

• Degree of Alcohol - to be completed with the degree of alcohol for those products that have had the Degree of Alcohol defined in their reference;

• IsExciseReference - indicates if an excise reference applies.
