Physical Description: Human top halves on a snake bottom half, the Naga are similar to Centaur in this regard and often have human-like appearance outside of their strange snake half. Most Naga have strange birth defects affecting their livelihood, making them "ugly" in the eyes of non-Naga.
Associated Class: Nagas do well as Rogues or Alchemists, using their intellect and deftness.
Associated Religions: Naga do not have a central religion, typically opting to act on their lonesome instead.
History: Unlike Centaur and other half-human and half-animal species, the Naga's creation is a much darker affair. Originally the Naga were a group of high-ranking nobles in society on an unnamed planet. At the time, the organization of the Naga took to profiting and benefiting from the misfortune of their subjects, taxing them to high heaven and imposing heavy punishment on those criminals who committed very few crimes. This came to a head when the Naga had a political enemy, a mage by the name of Karvuk who was gathering information on their dealings. Before he could publicize his findings, the Naga had him arrested and sentenced him to death. Before he could be executed, Karvuk cursed the "fork-tongued snakes who run this kingdom" and shouted "let them crawl on their bellies like the serpents they are." After his execution, the Naga were forcibly mutated and transformed into their half-snake and half-human forms, and lost their positions of power soon after.
In Morta IV: The Naga in the modern day are incredibly inbred, consisting of children of the previous Order of the Naga intermarrying due to their inability to copulate with non-Naga, and with as few Naga as there were, they had no other choice in order to survive. Despite their rather intense inbreeding, Naga rarely suffer life-threatening birth defects because of this, instead possessing physical oddities such as blue human skin instead of a normal pigmentation, or possessing multiple additional fingers when they shouldn't.
