History: Catfolk were initially a tribal group on Dratvian before the planet was primarily dominated by Dwarves. The two species did not interact much until much later in Dratvian’s history, and by this time the Dwarves were much more technologically advanced than the Catfolk Nomads. Rather than subjugating or eradicating the Catfolk, the Dwarves offered them to try to find a new home out in the galaxy through the use of their planet’s Dimensional Gate.
The Catfolk Nomads did find a barren jungle planet only containing fauna and no intelligent life, and dubbed it “Kra’tari” after the tribe leader who had led them to this planet.
In Morta IV: Catfolk are a proud and strong species, preferring to stick to groups - even if those groups are not made of their own kind. They are very social because of this, wanting company and craving it, becoming very distraught when they are left alone for long periods of time. Their presence in the galactic theater is relatively small, preferring to stick to their planet of Kra’tari and becoming hunters. There are however a scant few who journey out for adventure, wishing to do more than hunt the beasts of their native planet.
A popular Catfolk who left Kra’tari is Sen’vyul the Brazen Sword, a stage performer and celebrity on Berngulch who made his living doing live shows displaying his prowess with the sword and his ability to accurately slice training dummies to ribbons - all while maintaining a constant dance and rhythm. This has led to a stereotype, albeit a positive one, of Catfolk foreigners being entertaining performers who acquire unique skills to show off to others.
