Captains of ships at sea, Pirate Captains are feared by those who travel the open ocean.
Prerequisites: Level 6+, Acrobatics Trained, Artisan (Sailor) Trained
Class Abilities
Nothing Without A Crew
As a move action the Pirate Captain can motivate their crew, shouting out and giving them orders for the best performance possible. This functions as the Minstrel's Perform except it affects all allied crew members who can see and/or hear them.
If they already possess Perform or another ability which acts like Perform, this ability modifies it so it affects all all allies who can see and/or hear them.
Natural Acrobat
Pirate Captains are skilled at many forms of movement due to their life at sea. They receive a Climb and Swim speed equal to half their Land speed. If they already possessed a Climb or Swim speed, they instead increase by an amount equal to half their Land speed.
Sea Legs
So long as the Pirate Captain is aboard their own ship, they receive the benefits of Iron Stance (Trip, Reposition, and Bull Rush). Adjacent allies instead receive a +4 bonus to all Defenses against these combat maneuvers.
Permanent Crew
Even beyond Davy Jones' locker sailors assist this up and coming legendary pirate. The Pirate Captain is always considered as having a crew on a ship, even if they don't. These crewmen are counted as having a 4 in all stats, no skills trained, and weapon proficiency with siege weapons only for the purpose of rolls they may need to make.
Lady Luck's Favor
When cash is running tight, the Pirate Captain knows where to look to find scrounges of gold pieces on their person. Thus the Pirate Captain can accumulate 1,000 G per Luck Reroll spent on this ability, however the gold must be being spent either on the ship or be used for paying the crew their fair share. Gold left over does not carry over, and is considered 'lost'.
Hidden Treasure
Those who dare try and hide their loot from a Pirate Captain knows not what awaits them. Once per day a Pirate Captain can use this ability to find any hidden treasure within their immediate area (up to a 24 sq. distance). If the treasure would be hidden behind secret doors, they instead know there is treasure behind the secret door and know the location of the secret door.
Ship's Guide
While aboard their vessel any allies attempting to make skill checks on the ship gain a bonus equal to 1/2 the Pirate Captain's level. This bonus doubles if the skill check is related to maintaining the ship or driving it (such as with Artisan (Sailor) or Drive).
Perfect Sailor
On any Artisan (Sailor) or Acrobatics checks performed while aboard their own vessel, the Pirate Captain receives a +20 bonus on this check.
Ship's Parry
While aboard their vessel, the Pirate Captain can choose to make a parry using their own ship's various commodities around the place as opposed to their own weapon. This commodity grants a +5 bonus to the parry attempt when used. This ability can only be used once per encounter.
Grace of the Sea
While on a boat of any sort, the Pirate Captain receives a +2 bonus to all Defenses, and a +1 bonus on Dodge/Parry attempts made. If they are aboard their own vessel, they only suffer half as much sanity damage if they would be afflicted.
