Those Chaplains who have reached higher standings and become religious authorities, High Priests make up the likes of Cardinals and Popes, or similarly high importance figures in other religions.
Intense Devotion
Unlike a regular Chaplain, a High Priest must choose to take the Devotion which coincides with their Religion's Devotion. Worshiping Holy deities requires their devotion to be Holy, and vice versa for Unholy. They cannot choose deities who do not have Holy or Unholy listed.
This alters Devotion.
Divine Pulse
This functions as Power of Faith except instead of rolling for damage the damage is always calculated as a flat number equal to the rank of Divine Pulse they have (Divine Pulse III does 3 damage). This bypasses Soak, but not holy/unholy immunity (whichever is being used), and they are unable to use their Divine Pulse to heal - only to do harm. Magic is still used for to-hit, as normal.
This still functions as Power of Faith for the purposes of their Heroic Awakening.
This alters Power of Faith.
Chosen by Faith
Once per encounter the High Priest is able to negate sanity damage or regular damage from a single source - so long as the one dealing this damage is of equal or lower level than them.
This replaces Feather Step.
Blessed
The High Priest receives a bonus to Defense and Avoid equal to their Magic or Resistance (whichever is higher). This bonus disappears if the High Priest falls out of favor with their Devotion.
This replaces Artifact Forging.
