Physical Description: Crystal beings with inherent magic flowing through their bizarrely human-like veins running inside of them, the veins glowing a bright color reflecting out of the iridescent crystalline body.
Associated Class: Mage Shards are, more often than not, magically inclined classes. Mages, Druids, Evokers, and so on. They rarely become non-magic using classes, and the most physically inclined Mage Shards become Battlemages or Crusaders who take the Clergyman Deific Gift.
Associated Religions: Though magically inclined, Mage Shards typically give no regard to religion. Those who do however give reverence to Arcana.
History: Mage Shards were thought to have been a magical experiment by wizards who may have been a bit too adventurous, however this is far from the truth. Instead these lumbering masses of arcane energy were naturally formed from magically infused crystals, pulsating through them like blood through a human's body. Though inorganic, they are very much alive and are regarded as such.
In Morta IV: In modern times, Mage Shards serve as magical students and sages - taking their abnormally vast repertoire of arcane knowledge and using it to its greatest extent they can. Though uncommon, they are not totally unheard of in the galactic community, serving as magisters in various kingdoms.
