Godslayers are the most powerful mortals who have reached their peak potential - not just when it comes to fighting their fellow man but also when it comes to staving off and fighting deities. By unlocking this untapped well of power, they are capable of standing toe-to-toe with those who would normally otherwise kill them.
These rules serve as an "Epic Level" equivalent, where characters at 20th level progress beyond 20th by becoming Godslayers. Unlike Effective Level which maxes out at 40th, the Godslayer rules max out at 30th level. In order to reach 40th level and thus become a deity, they must successfully kill a Deity in combat and choose to absorb their power.
Godslayer
"Godslayer" levels are the additional levels granted by this alternate rule, and do not count as being a part of a single class but rather an all-encompassing new class which applies to all classes. This prevents confusion on behalf of multiclassing.
In order to gain levels as a Godslayer, the character must already be 20th level.
Godslayers have a stat cap of 20 instead of 10.
Bonus HP granted by Godslayer levels add on top of the character's current HP.
Stat Bonus granted by the levels is similar to the one all characters receive at every 4th level, superseding the original progression.
Bonus Feat
Godslayers receive a Bonus Feat every level, these bonus feats can be used on any feat the character has the prerequisites for.
Godslayer Focus
Each type of Godslayer is different in their approach, each having a unique style of combat against the very gods they seek to challenge. Choose one of these styles, once chosen it cannot be changed later.
Way of the Eagle: Also known as the Way of the Noble, characters who choose Way of the Eagle receive a 6 square fly speed (or increase any existing fly speed they already possess by 6 squares), gain a +5 bonus on Persuasion checks, and become immune to mind controlling spells or spells which would compel/force an action.
Way of the Wolf: Also known as Way of the Fang, characters who choose Way of the Wolf receive a +5 bonus to hit and damage while flanking (on top of the regular bonuses), receive a +5 on Initiative, and become immune to trip attempts.
Way of the Lion: Also known as Way of the Brave, characters who choose Way of the Lion receive a +5 bonus to Persuasion and this bonus is doubled when making intimidation checks using Persuasion. You gain a +5 bonus to Defense, and become immune to intimidation and fear effects.
Way of the Snake: Also known as Way of the Deceiver, characters who choose Way of the Snake receive a +5 bonus to Deception. You gain a +1 square to melee reach, and become immune to poison and disease.
Way of the Armadillo: Also known as Way of the Wall, characters who choose Way of the Armadillo receive a +10 bonus to Defense, +10 Natural Deflection to all body parts (this stacks with other forms of Natural Deflection and stacks with armor), and reduce damage from effects which bypass Soak by 1 (minimum of 0).
Way of the Spirit: Also known as Way of the Magician, characters who choose Way of the Spirit receive +10 additional MP and an additional +4 MP each Godslayer level after 1st. In addition to this, gain a +5 bonus to Mental Defense, and Spell Resistance 10 + Class Level + Godslayer Level + Resistance. If you already possess Spell Resistance, increase it by +5 instead.
Defense Bonus
This is a static bonus to all Defenses, and stacks with other forms of defense bonuses. It starts at +2 at 1st level and increases for every odd level thereafter.
