INGREDIENTS:
½ Pound Ham-Off- the-Bone, Thinly Sliced
2 Smoked Pork Chops
½ Pound Swiss Cheese
1 Bottle Sandwich Pickles
1 Loaf French Bread (NOT Baguette)
1 Stick Butter, softened
DIRECTIONS:
Cut French Bread into 6 inch pieces.
Cut each piece in half to make a sub style sandwich.
Layer ham, sliced pork, cheese and 4 to 5 pickles on each sandwich.
Close sandwich and cover outside with softened butter.
Place in a heated skillet and cover with a heavy (cast iron_ skillet to flatten the sandwich down.
Cook evenly on both sides until bread is browned, meat is heated and cheese is melted.
Remove from heat and slice the sandwich diagonally to make a triangle shape.
YIELD:
Approximately four (4) full (eight (8) half) sandwiches
NOTES:
Cuban bread is preferred but very hard to acquire.
This a great use of left-over smoked pork chops.
