INGREDIENTS:
DOUGHNUTS:
2 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoons ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ cups sour cream
3 eggs
3 tablespoons butter, melted
CINNAMON SUGAR ICING:
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
VANILLA ICING:
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400°
Spray doughnut pan with vegetable oil
mix eggs, butter and sour cream to a smooth texture
Add flour, sugar, nutmeg, baking soda and salt to produce a smooth batter
Distribute batter evenly in doughnut pan
Keep dough below the level of the pan. They will rise when baking
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Doughnuts are done when they spring back in pan
Cool pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes
Turn doughnuts over on wire racks to cool completely
CINNAMON DIP:
Combine all cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl
Dip doughnuts into melted butter and then into the cinnamon dip
VANILLA ICING:
Combine milk, confectioners sugar and vanilla in a separate bowl
Cover top of doughnut
YIELD:
Twenty (20) Doughnuts
