Post date: Mar 30, 2020 1:53:49 AM

Parents, if you haven't already, please click left on Class News and scroll down to Friday Catch Up to see what work needs to be turned in from last week. Thanks!

Students, I hope you had a relaxing weekend. I'm proud of the work you've done over the past two weeks and miss you a lot! Ready for some work to stay busy? Remember to take breaks to relax, snack, or play, to break up your day. Today you'd normally have a break for P.E. and Music Here we go with work for our class...

READING

In your Reader, look at the large photo on pgs. 324-325. Think about how the older child is showing good judgment. What mistakes have happened in the smaller photos? Later this week we will read a story about a character who takes responsibility for his actions. That is our theme for the week.

On the PearsonRealize website, watch the assigned Concept Talk Video. Respond to the prompt on the online Journal by clicking to pg. 2 after the video, and typing your sentence.

Then watch the Main Idea and Details video that was assigned for today.

PHONICS

This week we are focused on vowel patterns aw, au, au(gh) and al. Most of your spelling words will have these vowel patterns that sound like aw as in the word paw. In your Reader, read and blend the words and sentences on p. 326 and read the short selection on p. 327 aloud. Then complete Reading WB p. 433.

SPELLING

Visit the Spelling City website at https://www.spellingcity.com/users/lisaoc to find this week's list (Words for the Week of 3/30-4/3.) Please write them carefully in your WWNB. Then play one or two of the free games on the website to practice them.

VOCABULARY

Here are this week's important Vocab words to know: afternoon, blame, idea, important, signmaker, townspeople. Please write and define them in your WWNB, using your Reader Glossary as we always do in class. Of course, you may shorten up the definitions! Then complete Reading WB p. 434.

ENGLISH

Please complete p. 155 Synonyms Practice in your English book.

MATH

Watch the 2 assigned Math videos on PearsonRealize then complete pgs. 729-732 in your book. You do not need to complete the Homework and Practice pages. Then for fun play the game Gobbling Globs--Tens and Hundreds on the PearsonRealize site. Have fun!

SCIENCE

Watch the 60 Second Video What is a Fossil? on PearsonRealize. Then read and complete p. 145 in your book.

RELIGION

Remember to be extra kind and helpful at home during Lent and everyday. Do something nice and unexpected for someone in your family, and remember to thank Mom and Dad for helping you with your eLearning!
