This week in Math we complete Ch. 16 and Unit 4 with a chapter assessment on Tuesday and a unit assessment later in the week (likely on Thursday.) Concepts and skills involved in solving 2-digit addition and subtraction will be the focus of the Unit assessment. Once we begin the 3rd trimester we will be studying Measurement and Geometry, but we will continue to practice the addition and subtraction skills learned over the last few months.
We are nearing the end of our Social Studies Unit 3 Working Together and will likely be ready for an assessment at the end of the week. As the 3rd trimester begins, we will swing back to Science.
In our Religion lessons we have been focused on learning about the gift of the Eucharist and carrying on the work of Jesus. The kids are getting excited about receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time.
On Friday, your child came home with the brown envelope containing a permission form for an upcoming field trip to see a live performance of James and the Giant Peach. We are reading the story in class together and the students are excited to see the play, then watch the movie, so we can compare all three. Please return the signed permission form with payment of $14 as soon as possible, as theater seats won't be assigned until we have all money sent in. I'll send more information about our trip as the date approaches.
