In Math, we begin Topic 4: Fluently Add Within 100. Please continue to encourage practice of basic addition and subtraction facts. Many students are rusty and it really slows them down when trying to solve more complex problems.
We are using iReady both in school and at home. Students have their login information in their Assignment notebooks. Our goal is to have students spend 30-60 minutes each week in both Reading and Math subjects. I will begin assigning occasional homework on the iReady app going forward.
Please be sure to send a sweater or sweatshirt for your child to wear on chilly days in our classroom. We are keeping some windows open to improve air circulation and prevent the spread of Covid in school.
Halloween will be here soon. We will celebrate in our classroom on Friday, 10/30. We hope the weather will allow for our traditional costume parade in the morning, and Ms. Hayes will keep us updated on that. Please do not send any treats to be passed out in class. Unfortunately we cannot share anything sent from home. There will be some safe goodies provided at school that can be brought home and enjoyed. For costumes, please do not send your child in an over the head mask. Makeup is fine, but regular covid-preventing type masks must be worn, as usual. No pretend weapons should be brought to school.
