Welcome Back - Part 2 -- Remote Learning for the Week of January 5-8

Post date: Jan 4, 2021 3:09:26 PM

Hello Parents - Starting Tuesday, please help your child login to Google Classroom and our 8:00 a.m. Google Meet each day during remote learning for the next 2 weeks. Our Remote Learning Schedule is posted in Google Classroom along with daily assignments to be completed during classtime and independently. We will start each day at 8:00 a.m. Generally we will work until about 9:30 or 9:45 a.m. then take a 15 minute break. Following our morning break we will work together for about another hour, then break for lunch and "recess" time. We will meet again each day at 12 noon for about an hour. Any remaining independent work can be completed from 1 - 2 p.m. and if help is needed, students may reach out to ask questions and get help during my Office Hours in the afternoons.

Students login information to their gmail accounts, iReady, and the Pearson/Savvas website are in the front cover of their assignments notebooks.

Hello Students - If I don't see you at iPad pickup today, I'll see you in our remote classroom on Tuesday at 8 a.m. I've missed you and can't wait to hear about your holiday fun! Please do your best to be on time for our Google Meets, dressed in your school or P.E. uniform, ready to do your best each day.

Just as before, we can probably expect the unexpected problems with wifi, internet connections, and issues with cameras and sound when we are all together on Google Meet at the same time. If you are having trouble seeing or hearing me during a lesson, first try to leave and rejoin the meeting. Sometimes, playing with the settings fixes the problem. Sometimes moving to another part of your home that is closer to your router makes a difference. If you continue to have issues, and I haven't noticed while I'm teaching, send me a short message in the chat box to get my attention and I'll do my best to help troubleshoot with you. Don't get worried or upset because with everyone in your house logged on at the same time, we are bound to have some problems along the way, but we will manage!
