News for the Week of March 1-5

Post date: Feb 25, 2021 9:10:59 PM

In Reading this week we will review phonics and comprehension skills and strategies from Unit 4 and have a benchmark assessment at the end of the week. There will be no regular weekly reading or spelling tests this week.

This week in Math we will finish our work in Topic 10: Add Within 1,000 Using Models and Strategies. We will likely be ready for a Test early the week of March 8.

Please encourage your child to spend 45 or more minutes each week on both Reading and Math lessons on the iReady app. Regular use of this tool helps your child grow in their specific areas of need. We do spend some time on this during class, but cannot carve out 45 minutes for both Reading and Math each week. Thanks for your support!

A reminder for those children who will be receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist in April... don't forget about the 1st Communion Family Zoom Retreat on March 6 from 9:30-11 a.m. Children should also begin working with their parents in their Gift of Eucharist book provided by Dr. Antos. There is plenty of time to work through the short lessons in the book by April 25th, the day of our First Communion Celebration.

The weather is finally beginning to warm up. We go out for recess everyday unless the sidewalks are too sloppy. Please continue to send appropriate jackets, gloves, etc. for the day's weather.

Enjoy the long weekend!
