Wednesday, May 9 is the day we travel back in time to Naper Settlement! Here are a few reminders...

*Wear P.E. uniforms and bring appropriate outerwear for the weather

*Apply sunscreen before coming to school, bring sunglasses and a baseball cap if it's a sunny day. We will be outside for most of the day, rain or shine!

*Lunch should be packed in disposable containers, such as a brown or plastic bag, and should be labeled with student's name/St. Linus School. Student lunches will be stored for us, so please make sure they are clearly marked. No thermoses, lunchboxes, or storage containers, please! Remember, we have a student with a severe nut allergy, so if you can avoid sending nut-based products, it would be much appreciated!

*No school backpacks are allowed.

*No tablets, phones, or electronic devices are allowed.

*Please do not bring cash, as we will not have enough time to visit the gift shop. Sorry!

*If students want to bring a camera, that is okay, but please don't bring something you'd be upset about if it were lost. Disposable cameras, if you can find them, are a great option, as are small digital cameras that some kids may have.

*Students may bring, if they would like, a small, drawstring-type mini backpack to store a camera, small umbrella, etc. Anything students bring, other than their lunches, will be carried by them all day, and they will have to be responsible for it.

I hope I've answered your questions about the field trip - if I haven't, please shoot me an email on Monday or Tuesday!

HISTORY COMES ALIVE!

I've been checking in every few days, and many students have gotten a great start on this project! Please keep the due dates in mind and enjoy the process. The kids seem to be really excited about the big event and we want this to be an experience that the kids enjoy, remember, and learn from each other. Mrs. Schifferdecker and I cannot wait to see what the kids come up with!
