Math tests were sent home on Friday. Some errors were the result of not having basic addition facts mastered. Others resulted from rushing to finish and not checking work despite having 40 minutes to complete the test. Some were ready to turn in work after 10 minutes. The students who turned their tests in last had the highest scores in the class because they used the extra time to double-check their work. Please review errors with your child and remind them that being finished first doesn't usually score a "win" on a test.

In English, we will be wrapping our noun work this week. Possessives have been a challenge for many, but they are finally "getting it!" We have done a lot of practice with forming possessives for singular nouns, plural nouns, and irregular plural nouns.

On Tuesday we will celebrate All Saints Day with an All School Mass at 10 a.m. Of course you are always welcome to join us in Church.

Scholastic Book orders from the catalogs sent home last week are due by Friday, 11/4 if you are interested. You can either send in the order form with a check or if it is more convenient, use my teacher code H3ZD8 to order online with a credit card. Either way, books will come to the classroom.

The St. Linus Gobble Gobble 5K is still seeking participants and/or volunteers. Check out the information and register by going to the St. Linus Home page and click on Going Green. Hey 3rd graders! The class with the highest participation gets a pizza party!
