This week in math we continue to work on subtracting fluently within 100. Your children have learned the regrouping algorithm for subtracting 2-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers. Please continue to work on basic addition and subtraction facts so that these newer, more complex problem-solving skills aren't a difficult chore.
Our 2nd graders are feeling competitive with the other grades participating in iReady. Remember, our goal is to have every student complete at least 45 minutes of Reading and 45 minutes of Math each week on the app. We do spend some time on this during class whenever we can, but time spent on this at home when homework is light will help your child become more and more successful in these subjects.
