In Math we have just begun Topic 6: Fluently Subtract within 100. This week we will use models to subtract 2-digit and 1-digit numbers, and learn the standard algorithm to regroup in subtraction. Please continue to practice basic addition and subtraction facts. Mathletics.com really helps with this, especially when students are using the Live Mathletics part of the platform, which they can do once they have completed assignments.

December is a really busy month! Advent is upon us and we are really excited about the impending birth of Jesus. The 2nd graders are finishing their preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, which takes place on Saturday, 12/7 at 9:30 a.m. Santa's Workshop opens here at school the week of December 9th. We will have an All School Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 12/18 and all are welcome, as usual. On our last day before Christmas break, 12/20, we will have an All School Sing-a-Long at 8:30 a.m. and dismiss at 11:30 a.m. I'd like to have a small Christmas celebration in our classroom on that morning and am looking for parent volunteers who are Virtus-trained and would like to help. If you can volunteer your time or treats on that day, please send me a note or an email. Thanks!
