In Math this week, we began to study the operation of Division. We did some hands-on activities and learned that division is repeated subtraction. This week we will learn how division relates to multiplication. We will be ready for a test at the end of Chapter 13 by Friday.
Even though we are studying division, we will still have twice-weekly Quizzies on multiplication facts. Some of our students have already mastered their facts through x12! Congratulations! They will be challenged with some mixed fact Quizzies and need to keep reviewing to stay strong in their mastery.
Catholic Schools Week was busy and fun. We met some new families who are interested in joining us next year. We did some great activities and had visits from parents with interesting careers who shared their stories. The St. Rita Jazz Band and Drumline entertained us with a fantastic concert performance. Staley the Bear taught us about staying healthy through eating nutritious foods, drinking plenty of water, exercising, and getting enough sleep. There were contests, service projects, and delicious treats organized by our giving students and the FTC. Thanks to all who make St. Linus School a place to be proud of this week and every week. And last, but certainly not least, a special thanks to Julia's grandma and Liam's dad who volunteered their time on Friday so that I could enjoy a nice lunch with the rest of our faculty!
