Halloween is right around the corner and the kids are excited. We will have our customary Halloween costume parade on Oct. 31. It usually begins shortly after school starts, about 8:20 or 8:30 a.m. Kids will be in their costumes all day long, so if they are wearing something unusually warm or over-sized and you think they'll be uncomfortable throughout the school day, have them wear something underneath and they can slip the costume off if needed. We will have P.E. class on that day, so gym shoes should be worn. Please do not allow your child to bring or wear anything that may be construed as a weapon - toy guns, knives, swords, etc.

Children may, but are not obligated, to bring a Halloween trick-or-treat to share with their classmates during our class party in the afternoon. Will's mom, Sarah Nickless, has graciously offered to coordinate party plans. We're looking for some parents who would like to volunteer to help with a simple craft, a game, or to bring or send in party supplies. If you would like to help out, please contact me or Sarah so we can get things rolling. Please note that in order to help out in the school, on field trips, etc. you must be Virtus trained and have a CANTS form on file in the office.

Speaking of Virtus training, Fr. Mark is offering one more session in the Cardiff Center on November 13 at 6:30 p.m. You must sign up in advance to attend.

One final thing...

Please be sure to send your child to school with weather-appropriate outerwear for recess. We do go outside for about 15 minutes each day after lunch unless the weather is extremely cold or wet. They really need the fresh air and space to run around!
