Post date: Feb 13, 2020 10:01:47 PM

Happy Valentines Day, Presidents Day, and stay warm this weekend!

If you did not complete your mathletics assignments, please try to get them finished over the long weekend. I will be creating a new assignment soon!

Don't forget to complete your Spanish homework, if you haven't already.

This week in Reading our main selection is a legend called The First Tortilla. Vocabulary words to know from the story are:

awaken, cliffs, mountain, prize, rainbow, suffer, volcano. We are working on reading with good expression and intonation.

Our Phonics and Spelling focus is on vowel digraphs oo, ue, ew, ui. Spelling words for Friday's test are:

too

new

fruit

blue

true

fool

suit

spoon

clue

juice

drew

flew

know

won't

mountain

In Math we will finish Topic 9: Numbers to 1,000 with a test midweek, then will start Topic 10: Add Within 1,000 Using Models and Strategies.

Just a reminder to please send children to school with warm coats, hats and gloves for recess. We do try to get outside whenever the weather is tolerable. The kids need to run around and breathe fresh air - they have cabin fever!
