Google Classroom

We have all our class parents signed up for ClassTag, which is great because this tool allows teachers and parents to easily communicate.

However, I'm still waiting for some students to JOIN our GOOGLE CLASSROOM. You should do this on a device your child might be using if they are working at home. This tool is being used school-wide, especially in the event of a shutdown, so if you haven't yet helped your child join, this is what you need to do as soon as possible...

Go to the www.google.com where you can sign into your child's new school-affiliated gmail account. Their username is as follows:

first initial + last name + last two digits of graduation year + @ stlinusschool.org

Here's an example for 2nd grader Molly Brown who graduates in 2027 username: mbrown27@stlinusschool.org

Their password is currently set as Password (with an uppercase P) and I think you'll be asked to set your own. Don't lose it.

You'll need to use this login information to access your child's gmail account, where you should then find an invitation to JOIN our Google Classroom.

Once you have helped your child join, I'll get a notification and will be able to invite you, their parent, to become a guardian of their account. If we are using Google Classroom for eLearning, this will allow you to receive reports of missing work and help you to keep them on track.

If there was some confusion about ClassTag and Google Classroom last week, I apologize. I hope the above explanation helps to clear things up. I'm trying not to hit you with all the technology updates at once. My own head is spinning a bit. Soon I'll be sending home login credentials for Pearson/Savvas's online learning platform for Reading, Math, and Science, Raz-Kids, and iReady. So if we can all get on board with Google Classroom soon it will be easier to move forward. Thanks for all your patience and kind comments on ClassTag. I hope to add some photos soon.
