News for February 27 - March 3
Post date: Feb 24, 2017 9:55:34 PM
Mrs. Fike has graciously extended the deadline for the Six Flags Read to Succeed forms to be turned in because a few students were under the impression that this not a mandatory assignment. Please encourage your child to complete their reading and turn in their signed logs on Monday.
This week in Reading our main selection is a folk tale called Fly, Eagle, Fly! Tested vocabulary words from the story are:
clutched, echoed, gully, reeds, scrambled, thatch, valley
Our Spelling words for Friday's test all have the VCCCV pattern and are:
monster
surprise
hundred
complete
control
sample
instant
inspect
pilgrim
contrast
explode
district
address
substance
children
merchant
embrace
purchase
curtsy
contract
Please continue to encourage multiplication fact mastery with daily practice at home. I am keeping track of each child's individual progress with mini quizzes twice weekly and we will celebrate victory when we get through those 12s!
We will celebrate Ash Wednesday with a prayer service in Church at 10:00 a.m. You are welcome to attend if you are able.
I'm excited that we will be attending a performance of Once Upon A Mattress by Marist Theatre Guild students in March. I'll send home a permission form when all the details are worked out.
