News for the Week of 1/23-1/27

Post date: Jan 20, 2017 4:46:12 PM

This week in Reading, we are reviewing and taking our 3rd Unit Test (Thurs/Fri,) so there will be no new spelling or vocabulary words.

We are focused on descriptive writing in English. We have begun writing about our favorite places. Work will be going back and forth between home and school as we revise, edit, and prepare to publish work. Please encourage your child to do their best and review their work with them each time they bring it home to make changes. Final drafts are due on Friday.

In Math, we have finished our work with data and graphs and will be exploring Fractions for the next couple of weeks. This is a deviation from the order in our textbook and workbook, so don't be surprised if you see your child working in the back of their workbook at home.

Reminders...

Friday, 1/27 is Ladies Guild Lunch for those who preordered.

Catholic Schools Week is right around the corner. Please join us on Sunday, January 29 at the 9 a.m. Family Mass followed by an Open House in the school. I hope some of our 3rd graders can attend to demonstrate the interactive reading games and activities on our Brightlink projector to our visitors and prospective school families. All are welcome!
