A few reminders...

Your child's report card for the 1st Trimester is in their Home folder. Please sign and return only the envelope. The report card itself is yours to keep.

Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. on Monday 11/23 and there is no extended day available after school. We return to school Monday, 11/30.

For scheduled conferences Monday afternoon/evening I'm crossing my fingers that our technology works. Conferences are just 10 minutes each and most have no breaks between, so if there are technology issues or glitches we can always conference by phone or email at another time.

For their safety as well as the safety of the adults in the building, please remind your child that they need to keep their masks up over their noses. It seems to be getting harder and harder for many to keep their masks on and to stay socially distanced in the classrooms, hallways, and restrooms. We are all getting so tired of this pandemic, but this is not the time to slack off on safety.

For the week of November 30-December 4 we begin Unit 3 in our Reading series with fantasy fiction entitled Pearl and Wagner Two Good Friends. Vocabulary words to know from this selection are: robot, wad, trash, electricity. High Frequency words to practice are: guess, shoe, won, pretty, village, science, watch

Our phonics and spelling focus is on vowel patterns e, ee, ea, y. Spelling words are:

In Math we are beginning Topic 6: Fluently Subtract Within 100. Once again, please continue to encourage mastery of basic addition and subtraction facts.

Students should be working independently on iReady Reading and Math lessons at home a few times each week, especially on days when homework is lighter. Please have them check their iReady minutes to see if they are completing at least 45 minutes for each of these subjects.
