REMINDER: Ms. Brodsky has links to the Christmas Pageant music on her website. She has asked you to practice at home over the weekend!

Here are some important happenings this week...

We continue to rehearse the Christmas Pageant in the afternoons. It is beginning to come together! Lines have been memorized nicely and are no longer using scripts in rehearsal. Please continue to practice lines at home. Remember, the Christmas Pageant is on Tuesday, 12/20 at 6 p.m. in the Church.

We will have a test on Social Studies Chapter 4 on Tuesday, 12/13. Students received their Study Guides last Wednesday and were encouraged to begin reviewing over the weekend.

Beginning Wednesday, 12/14, our class will be responsible for the morning prayers, Pledge, and announcements over the P.A. system. A practice page will come home before your child's turn. Please encourage them to rehearse a few times so that they are comfortable. It is important that your child arrives to school with plenty of time to get unpack their backpack and get to the office before 8 a.m. when announcements begin.

This Thursday, 12/15, students will have an opportunity to do a little holiday shopping for their family members at our annual Santa Shop. If you would like your child to participate, please send money in an envelope or ziploc that is clearly marked with their name on Thursday. It might be a good idea to help them prepare a list of who to shop for and how much they are allowed to spend on each.

Friday, 12/16 is a Ladies Guild lunch day!

Let's Party! Our final day before the break is Thursday, 12/22 and there will be 11:30 dismissal that day. We will celebrate together following the annual all-school Christmas Singalong which takes place first thing in the morning. I will be providing Dunkin Donuts and juice since this is a morning celebration. We will enjoy a Christmas movie on our giant screen together. We are trying to decide between Polar Express, Elf, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. If anyone has these movies in a DVD version, or another Christmas movie that is age-appropriate (rated G or PG) please feel free to send them in this week and we will vote on a favorite.

LearnBoost

Our (temporary) online grade viewing system seems to be set up and working and you should have received your Access Code in a letter sent home on Friday. Once you set up your free parent account, you will be able to view your child's 2nd trimester grades as I post them. Please ignore the part of the letter that says you can track attendance, review homework assignments, and contact me through this program. This was a form letter provided by LearnBoost and I am not using those parts of the program. If an assignment has not been turned in and graded, it will post as a 0 until I have entered a score. Therefore, if your child missed school and is still completing work, don't be alarmed if you see a low average. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to dash off an email, and I'll respond as quickly as I can. I will continue to send home all graded work, including tests to be signed and returned, so that you can review errors with your child and keep up with their progress.

Have a great week!
