This week in Reading, our main selection is expository text called Seeing Stars. Vocabulary words on Friday's test are:

dim, gas, gigantic, ladle, patterns, shine, temperature

For Phonics/Spelling, this week our words have the various spellings of the sounds /j/, /s/, and /k/. Those words are:

clock

kitten

judge

crack

edge

pocket

brake

change

ridge

jacket

badge

orange

ceiling

advantage

pledge

Kentucky

pencil

We will likely have an English Test on Pronouns at the end of this week, depending on our progress at the end of this section.

We will complete Chapter 10 in Math this week, which covers the multiplication facts through the 5s. We will continue with our weekly "quizzies," usually on Wednesdays. Children should be practicing their facts daily, a set at a time, until their responses become automatic.

Christmas Pageant rehearsals are in full swing. We are "off script" on Tuesday, so students need to have all their lines memorized. They need to know when their lines come in and be able to say them loudly and expressively, in context with the story they are telling.

Thank you to those who have already sent in canned tuna or chicken for the annual holiday food drive. Donations can be sent in through December 18 (including cash, which will be used to purchase perishable food.)
