In Math we continue to explore Multiplication and will be ready for the Chapter 9 test before the end of the week. Multiplication fact mastery is crucial. Children should be practicing the basic facts daily. We are having weekly "Quizzies" on the facts in this order - x2, x5, x3, x4, x6, x8, x7, x10, x9, x11, x12. When your child shows mastery of a set of facts, they "move up" to the next set. It is best to practice one set of facts at a time so they are truly mastered. Please support your child in their efforts to master their multiplication facts. Knowing their multiplication facts are just as essential as knowing their addition facts was in first and second grade.

Please sign and return the Math test sent home on Friday.

As you already know, we have begun rehearsals for the Christmas Pageant, which takes place on the evening of Tuesday, December 19, at 6 p.m., in Church. All 3rd and 4th graders have a role, and it is a beautiful pageant for the entire family to enjoy. Please make a note of this date on your calendar. There are song lyrics that all children need to memorize and some also have a few spoken lines.

If your child completed an entry for the Oak Lawn safety coloring contest, they need to be turned in. They will be picked up this week and a winner selected soon for a ride to school in the fire engine.

There will be an All School Mass on Friday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. As always, you are welcome to join us on this holy day of obligation.
