Wassail
Makes 1 gallon
Time: about 1 hour
Ingredients: (from FCC PA Elizabethan Dinners)
- 1 gallon cider (about 4 liters)
- 6 cloves
- 2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 6 teaspoon allspice
- 6 ounces lemonade from concentrate
- 16 ounces orange juice from concentrate
- 16 ounces water
Add the cider, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice to a large pot cover and bring to a slight boil. Allow to simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Stir in lemonade, orange juice, and water. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Can be cooled for storage and reheated in the microwave for serving hot.
For an extra kick, add sherry before serving.
