Wassail

Makes 1 gallon

Time: about 1 hour

Ingredients: (from FCC PA Elizabethan Dinners)

  • 1 gallon cider (about 4 liters)
  • 6 cloves
  • 2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 6 teaspoon allspice
  • 6 ounces lemonade from concentrate
  • 16 ounces orange juice from concentrate
  • 16 ounces water

Add the cider, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice to a large pot cover and bring to a slight boil. Allow to simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Stir in lemonade, orange juice, and water. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Can be cooled for storage and reheated in the microwave for serving hot.

For an extra kick, add sherry before serving.
