Snickerdoodles

Baking Temperature: 400 degrees

Time: 8 to 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Cream together butter, shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Blend flour, cream of tartar, salt, and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to butter and egg mixture. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Roll balls into mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Place in a 400 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until set but not too hard.
