Pizza

Serves 4 to 6

Baking Temperature: 400

Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (add with flour)
  • 2 tablespoons of yeast
  • 1 2/3 cups of warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Toppings:

  • Olive oil
  • 8 ounce can of tomato sauce (no salt added)
  • Oregano

Pour water and yeast into a bowl. Then add sugar. Let sit 15 minutes until the mixture is bubbly. Add the olive oil and some flour (about 2 cups) and salt, then beat with dough hooks. Add the remaining flour and continue to mix with a wooden paddle.

Turn out onto a floured board and knead for 10 minutes. Keep adding flour as needed and knead until the dough begins to create small dimples. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 2 hours.

Punch down the dough when doubled in bulk and scrape down the sides of the bowl onto a floured board. Divide into two parts and place onto oiled pizza pans. Press into place and let sit to rise again. Press into final position to create crust.

Lightly oil each dough flat and poke air bubbles with a fork (about four to five pokes). Spread 4 ounces of tomato sauce on each pizza with a spoon, making sure not to cover the crust. Lightly sprinkle oregano on each pizza. Sprinkle cheese and add desired toppings (vegetables, meat, fruit, etc).

Preheat oven to 400 degrees convect bake and place pizza in oven for 20 minutes or until light brown.
