Beer Bread
Makes 1 loaf
Baking Temperature: 375 degrees
Time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
3 cups flour (400 grams)
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1⁄4 cup sugar
1 (12 ounce) bottle of beer
1⁄4 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix dry ingredients and beer together.
Pour into a greased loaf pan. Pour melted butter over mixture. Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
You can also use 4 mini loaf pans. Grease each pan and pour in about 7 ounces of batter. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes away cleanly. Remove from the pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
Notes:
Loaves can be frozen for a few months if well wrapped.
This recipe makes a very hearty bread with a crunchy, buttery crust. If you prefer a softer crust (like a traditional bread) mix the butter into the batter instead of pouring it over the top.
