Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp instant dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 melted salted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2-4 cups all purpose flour
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 170 F
- Mix water and honey, sprinkle yeast on top, let sit a few minutes
- Stir in butter, salt, and eggs until combined
- Add the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough forms a ball and easily pulls away from the sides of the bowl
- Divide into 12 even pieces and shape into balls. Place into a lightly greased 9x13 baking dish.
- Turn oven off. Cover rolls and place in warm oven. Let rise at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 F
- When rolls have doubled in size, bake for about 15-20 minutes
- Brush with melted butter and salt if desired
Cinnamon Roll Filling Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Cinnamon Roll Directions:
- Follow regular recipe steps 1-4. Allow dough to rest a couple minutes while mixing filling ingredients.
- Roll out dough onto floured surface and roll until dough is about a 9"x18" rectangle.
- Spread filling onto dough as evenly as possible.
- Roll dough tightly and divide into 12 pieces.
- Place rolls into a greased 9"x13" baking dish - press down slightly.
- Turn oven off. Cover rolls and place in warm oven. Let rise 30-60+ minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 400 F
- Bake rolls for about 15-20 minutes (check at 12 minutes)
Garlic Knot Directions:
- Cut dough into strips and tie into a knot
- Let rise on a piece of parchment paper on top of a baking sheet
- Bake as directed above.
- Melt 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter in a sauce pan, add 4 cloves of garlic, and cook until garlic is browned. Turn off heat and add 2 Tbsp parsley.
- Brush garlic butter onto baked knots. Lightly salt.
