Ingredients:
Dough:
- 2 cups warm milk
- 2 Tbsp instant dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 6 Tbsp butter, softened
- 2 lg egg
- 6 cups AP flour
Filling:
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 4 Tbsp sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 cup cinnamon chips, divided
Glaze/Topping:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Milk to desired consistency
- 2/3 cup cinnamon chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 F
- Whisk all dough ingredients together except flour in bowl of stand mixer. Add flour and mix with dough hook. Add more dough until mixture becomes tacky but not sticky. Dough should be soft.
- Remove dough from bowl and place in a lightly greased bowl, flip and cover. Allow to rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- When dough is almost finished rising, mix up filling ingredients by mixing together until well incorporated.
- Roll out on extra-large greased baking sheet into large oval. Snip sides.
- Spread filling down the middle of dough. Braid dough over filling.
- Bake 12-15 ??? minutes until dough is kissed brown. Check for middle/bottom to be fully cooked.
- Whisk glaze ingredients together and pour over danish. Top with remaining cinnamon chips.
