Ingredients:
- 2 cups AP flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter
- 1 cup milk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 ° F.
- Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- Grate stick of butter into flour mixture, stirring occasional so shredded butter pieces do not stick as much as possible. 1-2 Tbsp of butter will remain so you do not harm yourself when grating - use for other purpose or discard.
- Pour milk into flour mixture and stir until just incorporated.
- Flour work surface and dump dough onto flour. Flour hands and knead dough. Add flour as needed until dough is no longer sticky.
- Roll out dough to about 1" thick. Cut biscuits with large round biscuit cutter and place on ungreased baking sheet. Re-roll and repeat until all dough is used.
- Bake 12-15 minutes until edges begin to brown.
