History:

The D-41 Class was designed as a new destroyer class to accompany the L-24 Battleship

and other new Klingon designs, equipped with short-range, high-power disruptors

and forward and aft KP-5 torpedo launchers. Although a fairly normal destroyer class

that was retired in the 2350s after 70 years of service, the D-41s were often liked by

their crews, and were sometimes even fitted with unofficial systems ripped off of

captured pirate vessels.
