Recently, I have esxperimented with high Laser Charges of around 3000, and achieved Warp 9.6 twice.

To simulate more primitive and advanced settings, multiply and divide the statistice of the ships by these numbers in your head.

Daedalus: Limit Warp to 4.2, 4.5 or 5.0 (depending on refit), and Lasers/Energy to x0.25; -

reduce torpedo tubes to 2

Wasp: Limit Warp to 4.2, and Lasers/Energy to x0.3

Moskva: Limit Warp to 4.8, and Lasers/Energy to x0.33

Perseus: Limit Warp to 5.0, and Lasers/Energy to x0.4; - reduce torpedo tubes to 1

Hyperion: Limit Warp to 5.2, and Lasers to x0.3, Energy to x0.42; - reduce torpedo tubes to 1

Lancaster: Limit Warp to 5.8, and Lasers/Energy to x0.5; - reduce torpedo tubes to 2

Valley Forge: Limit Warp to 6.5, and Lasers/Energy to x0.75

Constitution: normal default Egatrek ship; - no modifications

Enterprise: Max Warp = 9.0, Lasers/Energy are x1.1

Excelsior: Max Warp = 9.2, Lasers/Energy are x1.2

Ambassador: Max Warp = 9.2, Lasers/Energy are x1.3

Galaxy: Max Warp = 9.6, Lasers/Energy are x1.5

Sovereign: Max Warp = 9.9, Lasers/Energy are x1.6
