History-
The Costume-Class was developed by the Advanced Starship Design Bureau in 2459-2469 to counter improvements in the Allied Worlds Sensors and Weapons, and to halt the dubious black market trading and occasional attacks conducted by Allied Worlds Ships, making use of a number of experimental Stealth Technologies, Holographic decoy, Sensor Decoy Signals and Drones, and improved Cloaking Devices taking up less power. The ships sometimes led squadrons and fleets, but often operated alone as recon, scout, colony defense, and showing the flag missions. They were used in a secondary role in the Existence War, as they were getting over the hill, but the ships were still viewed as a useful, although dubious, chapter in Starfleet Engineering.
Noteworthy Ships-
U.S.S Costume; - Prototype, successfully tested Stealth Technologies and destroyed two rogue IKS ships (2469-2470), U.S.S Clouseau; - engaged Ferengi Smugglers near Eridanus Sigma (2476), U.S.S Scarlet Pimpernel; - during a Spy Mission, noted development of Allied Worlds Sensor and Comm Network, and secretive development of numerous Allied Worlds Colonies and Shipyards (2474-2477)
