History-
The Iron Oyster was one of the prime System Patrol vessels used to guard the Colonies and Outposts in the more distant systems of the Federation, to deal with complaints from colonists that they were in danger of being cut off and unprotected, especially with the threat of Klingons looming.
They were instrumental in providing defense to the Automated Communications and Mining Facilities of Gamma II and Ardraleen Eridas, and the Colonies of Steven's Pasture and Aldebaron Colony, and along with the Sargassos Gemstone, and later Fenlon and Callus Classes, were in service for short-range defense for numerous decades, finally retired in the early 2290s'.

The Sargassos Gemstone was the first of a series of older monitors, used to provide defenses for the wild and dangerous frontier areas, and was used alongside a few other Monitor Classes for decades, cheap and easily repaired, until they were finally retired in 2281-2282.

History-
The Dino De Laurentis was a more enduring, Monitor cladss, with spare troops and supplies, and cheap parts, except for the many FH-3s, which the class uses heavily in the defense and neutralisation the vessels participated in, such as the defense at Ariel Sigma in 2266, and when three of them assisted the Bozeman in fending for the Gamma Epsilon Colony, against two Klingon D-20Fs in 2277.
The Monitors were still in service, performing quite well, despite heavy age, due to their out-of-the-way, secondary duty, until finally they were retired in the early 2320s'.
Notes-
Soon after discovering the STCSDC, and looking at some designs and stats by Bryan Jecko and Christopher Cornelius, I made a simplistic, piece of boxy crap in MSPaint, and made some rough stats in May.'-2002, later redoing it, much like how I redid my old notebook doodles from 1997'.
