IKS Ships

THis ship was operated by the Imperial Klingon Kzesha Tai Reshtarc, and operated as a Privateer, and sometimes

full Naval Ship fr the IKS, after Kzesha, enraged over the disappearence of the Organians, and much less

of a Klingon presence across the border (in his eyes), and by some ships and their legendary crews, such as

the USS Enterprise continually getting the best of numerous Klingon Warships and operatives, defected with his

D-18, IKS Toqueilde to the IKS, and with numerous systems and a dubious deal with the WYN and Pirates from three

of the Orion Cartels, got it converted to a unique IKS Warship, giving it mass-efficient, power-heavy Orion Impulse

Engines and a WYN Control Computer, and a heavy Weapons loadout. It functioned in this way from 2/1941.28

(August 28th, 2279) to 2/4302.07 (February 7th, 2306), when it was destroyed by three Klingon D-26 K'teremny-Class

Destroyers, when hostilities between the Federation-Klingons and Romulans-IKS escalated.

"For we hold that in all disaster

Of shipwreck, storm, or sword,

A Man must stand by his Master

When once he has pledged his word.'

History-

This Class was developed to be a temporarily hard-to-pin-down, alien, nimble escort ship for the IKS's few larger cruisers, with small staffing requirements and reliant entirely on older, weaker Disruptor Firepower. It got it's name from a species of Frog on a windy, .6g World recently acquired by the IKS in 2/4705.02 (May 2nd, 2310), which used it's batlike wings and sonar to navigate the vast, windy swamps and plains.

History-

Soon after a few disastrous battles with the Federation, Klingons and Lyrans, the IKS in 2302,

with some newly completed shipyards on Mattara and Kinzrei, assigned a team headed by Admiral

Kasek to design an all-new Class of ship that would function as an adequate raider for the IKS,

and to often lead demonstration squadrons. Due to Photon Torpedoes only being available to the

IKS in small quantities, the A-11 Class would only Disruptor-armed, much like many of the aging

ships in use in the IKS, with some space and mounts for heavier weaponry to be installed

later.

The prototype IKSV Spear of Destiny, named for a glowing Spear wielded by the nomadic

hunter-getherer Kang (<---Yes, yet another with the same name), was tested thoroughly near

North Pasadena in 2307, and officially commissioned in February 12th, 2308, leading a D-18 Squadron

to engage a Federation Destroyer Squadron, destroying one and causing the others to retreat,

and although the ship would never see such a high level of success, it, and it's brothers,

would soon bolster the IKS, and stabilize the Navy adequately. More were built, two more completed

in 2309, one more completed in 2310 and soon destroyed in a suicide attack on the USS Galacta,

two more completed in 2312, one more completed in 2313, and four completed in 2315, the ships

often leading squadrons of older ships, rather than all A-11 squadrons, as was often done with

Klingon Squadrons, and sometimes being used to guard colonies and bases of the IKS.

After 17 years with no upgrades, the A-11s were refitted in 2325 to use old, surplus RPL-1

Plasma Weapons sold by the Prime Industries Cartel, which sometimes boosted firepower, but were

archaic and power-consuming, and one year later, then Commodore Kenthas, who was part of the

A-11's original design team, began developing two more efficient upgrades, one to return to

the old Phaser-Disruptor-Drone days of Kareli and Kozenko, which was deemed to be both

overwhelming and good for nimble, torpedoless ships, and one with Photon Torpedoes, which was

delayed until the IKS could get ahold of enough Photon Torpedoes, the Type C and D coming online

in 2328 and 2345.

Even today (as of 2395), the IKS still uses these ships as aging patrol ships, that sometimes perform

recon on various ships on the Triangle, although the time is nigh to replace them.
