History-
Due to only a small number of larger Cruisers having significant Shuttle/Fighter Capabilities,
and due to there only being a small number of Through-Deck Cruisers and Heavy Carriers, that
were sometimes used for displays of force or to show the Flag, San Fransisco and Utopia Planitia
began working on proposals for new, smaller Light Carriers built in significant numbers.
After scoffing at Utopia Planitia's idea for yet another Oberth-Deriative making use
of a boxy ventral Carrier Section, the Contract went to San Fancisco Fleet Yards to develop
a Light Carrier of significantly Original Design; and the Crescentfire-Class CVL was born.
