History-

The Gorn developed the ES-7 Liliensternus-Class Light Escort to be a cheap, mass-produced counter against increasing Hassan raids. A durable, short, fat wedge with a lone underside nacelle connected directly to the hull, the Liliensternus-Class was one of only two designs built to the shorter, fatter wedge scheme in the 2270s-2280s, and sometimes fought off or destroyed a Hassan Warship, but many struggled, and at least 13 were destroyed in 2283-2284, as the Romulans and Hassans, as well as exhausted resources, wore down the Gorn Alliance. The vessels had little to no use, except for the occasional defense, and weren't given to Starfleet for Fleet Exchange as some other vessel had, due to such a close engine position been to radiation-exposing to most Starfleet Crews. 7 of the remaining vessels were sold to various Triangle interests, the rest scrapped.
