Why Are Lanyards So Important?

Fitz requires staff and students to wear lanyards every day on campus. Students ask and wonder why it is so important to Fitz, but it's for the school's safety. A lot of students do not wear them, which can be unsafe.

Have you ever wondered why students at Fitz are required to wear lanyards every day? At Fitz, both students and staff must wear lanyards on campus for safety reasons. Even though some students may not like wearing them, lanyards play an important role in keeping everyone safe.

One reason lanyards are important is that they help identify students. Lanyards show who belongs on campus and who does not. For example, Emma Paredes explained, “Lanyards help identify who goes to this school or in case of an emergency.” This shows that lanyards are not just accessories and instead help staff quickly recognize students and keep the school secure. Moreover, in an emergency, it becomes easier to know who is supposed to be there.

Another reason lanyards matter is that they contain important information. Each lanyard has a student's name, picture, and other information. For instance, Juliet Cepeda said, “It has your full name, grade, school picture, lunch number, and barcode.” This is important because it helps the staff quickly identify students and access information when needed. All of this proves that lanyards are an important part of staying organized and safe at school.

All things considered, lanyards are very important at Fitz. They help identify students, provide important information, and keep the school safe. Clearly, even though some students may not like wearing them, lanyards are necessary for a safe school environment.
