Officer Pacheco is one of this year’s new additions to our Fitz family! He was brought here to keep our school safe and secure.
Officer Pacheco grew up in the Bay Area and was 25 years old before moving to Santa Ana, California. He wasn’t planning to be a cop, he was planning on being a chef because it's fun and he loves to eat. As a child, he idolized Batman, which he still does to this day. He feels like Batman in his police car, which has a slight resemblance to the Batmobile. Like Batman, Officer Pacheco willingly drives into danger to protect anyone who needs help. Officer Pacheco knows his job can be dangerous, but nonetheless loves it. “It’s an exciting job to help people and be a positive role model to others,” he said. "It keeps me busy and makes me feel young at the same time. It also helps me try to guide kids in the right direction because if I can get one kid in the right direction I can get them all in the right direction,” added Officer Pacheco.
Besides being an officer, Officer Pacheco likes running, traveling, and spending time with his family. He has run three full marathons! He probably runs about 2,000 miles a year! Besides running, he loves to travel and explore new places. He recently took a trip to Costa Rica. He enjoyed seeing the amazing views every day. At home, he coaches a running team since he loves running. He’s happily married to his wife with two kids, both boys. His two boys are also athletic just like him!
Fitz staff is delighted to have Officer Pacheco! He has helped keep Fitz safe for our students. Mr. Magaña had already met Officer Pacheco before he was stationed at Fitz. “I worked with him before and when he saw we needed support he came along,” said Mr. Magña. “GGUSD was the main reason we added Officer Pacheco since every school has a police officer, except the schools in Santa Ana. So they added him to support our school,” said Mr. Magaña.
Students also love having a police officer around. “I feel safe knowing there is a police officer that is certified and has experience with working at schools and knows how to keep our school safe,” said Sofia Charco.
Officer Pacheco is an amazing person and a great addition to the Fitz community. We’re all very grateful and lucky to have him here.
