Have you heard about the new history teacher, Mr. Pineda? He is the new history and DLI teacher at Fitz Intermediate. After Ms. Gils' health issues, Mr. Pineda walked in. His room number is Room 34 and is located in the West Quad. He is always ready to help and teach students at Fitz Intermediate, but the most important detail is, what do students think of him?
Many students think that Mr. Pineada’s classroom is very soothing and relaxing, and it feels great to be in his class. For many, it feels like a break entering his class. For example, when asked about the atmosphere in his classroom, Desiree Vu said, “It feels good to be in his class because if I’m having a bad day, I feel like I can just chill there. The vibes I get from his classroom are very laid-back and calming.” This shows that many people think that he is very easy-going and isn’t too cruel to his students. Even Mr. Pineada himself said, “My goal is to make it [teaching/learning] fun and entertaining.” It shows how he really cares about his students and how he cares about their overall well-being. He isn’t too harsh on students, and he interacts and makes conversations with them often to make sure that they don’t feel excluded. Mr. Pineda is a great teacher, and he always makes sure that every one of his students is doing well.
In addition, students also think that Mr. Pineada makes difficult material easy to understand, and he always makes sure everyone knows what he is talking about before moving on. He cares about students being left behind, and he makes sure that everyone knows what he is talking about before skipping to something else. For instance, a student in his class, Kailey Amaro, when asked about her thoughts on Mr. Pineada’s teaching and the difficulty of such teaching, replied with “I like his method of teaching because even though we mostly just write down notes, I still understand, and he waits for us to do so.” This shows how Mr. Pineada makes sure everyone is on the same page and how he cares for all students. He himself said, “I think the best way to approach students is with humility and positive energy.” He doesn’t put himself above students; instead, he puts them at the same level as him. He respects his students’ thoughts, but it doesn’t mean that you can goof off and do nothing for the whole class. Teachers like him are a great addition to our community and are an important part of our campus.
In conclusion, Mr. Pineda is an awesome addition to our Fitz community. He cares for students, and in fact, this quarter he will be our official teacher for history; no longer just a substitute teacher! With Mr. Pineda being our newest permanent teacher at Fitz, we will see even more students grow and continue to act out scholarly habits on campus. He is a great teacher, and this next year will be on top with his newfound dedication at Fitz!
