Fashion at Fitz

Have you ever wondered what’s considered popular at Fitz? Is it your newly bought ProClub hoodie or your pair of flare leggings you got at the swap meet? There are so many questions and thoughts–how can we know? Well, I’m here to tell you what is popular to wear at Fitz!

Bold colors like red, blue, and black are considered popular among students. Whether it's a sweater, shirt, or shoes, students always rock these colors. Additionally, pastel colors are also popular among students. One student observed, “Bold colors like black, grey. Some pastel colors. I see those because I see a lot of people with those colors.” This color palette can be seen among the girls at school who wear light blue babydoll tops and pink cardigans. Colorful shirts are just one of many ways a student can express themselves, no matter what color scheme they have on.

Popular brands among the students include Pro Club, Dickies, and Levi’s. Many students like these brands, as one student stated, “Levi’s, Dickies, and Pro Club, because baggy is swag.”  Pro Club is known for its heavyweight shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants. Dickies are worn for their durable and comfortable pants, and Levi’s are popular for their 501 jeans, which are loose and straight fit. Although these brands are popular to wear, Pro Club and Dickies are not allowed at school due to it being considered gang-related. So what else can they wear?

Lastly, if you ever want to put something extra to spice up your look, try wearing necklaces and bracelets. “The accessories I see the most are mostly bracelets or necklaces,” said an anonymous student. Students, both boys and girls, wear at least one of these. Whether it’s just a gold chain, kandi bracelets, silver bangles, or a jade pendant, they’re all popular among students. 

So whether you feel like wearing your Levi’s or your light gray Hollister sweater, your clothing is your own choice and expression.
