At Fitz Intermediate, students’ styles change to follow fashion trends. Students have gone from baggy jeans to flared—what is your favorite style?
Fashion and comfort are two important things that many people focus on. Some people prefer one over the other, but why do we have to choose just one? Recently, baggy jeans have come into style, and they’re both comfortable and fashionable. Baggy jeans have become a common sight in the hallways with popular brands such as Ben Davis, Levi’s, and Champion. Some students prefer to wear baggy jeans to follow the trend, while others have different reasons. A 7th grader named Leslie Vazquez says she wears baggy jeans because they are comfortable and trendy.
Baggy shirts have also made their way onto the campus. Lots of students wear baggy hoodies, shirts, and more. Some students wear specific brands like Ben Davis, while other students just wear simple or plain shirts. Although there are many different types of baggy shirts and hoodies, they are easy to spot. They have been seen countless times in the hallways and at lunch, but how do they style them? Some students wear baggy shirts on top of baggy pants, and some students wear baggy shirts over flared jeans. A 7th grader named Maria Jessenia Garcia Paniagua wears baggy shirts often. She says she enjoys wearing them because she likes wearing comfortable yet pretty clothes.
Flared pants have also been in style lately. Many students have been seen wearing flared leggings or jeans a lot. Ever since they’ve been introduced to social media, it has been a major hit causing a new fashion trend. This fashion trend is a throwback to the year 2000’s when flared jeans were popular, and has now become trending again. A student named Alondra Vela-Luciano said she wears flared jeans because it’s what she feels comfortable wearing. She also wears it because of the current fashion trend from the 2000s.
Whether it be baggy pants, shirts, or flared jeans, today’s students are embracing both comfort and style. What is your favorite style?
