Fitz just had its first Skate Night, and it was a success! Skate Night allows students to be with their friends, skate, create memories, share some laughs, and so much more. Even teachers got to enjoy the fun! It was held at Fountain Valley Skating Center on Friday, September 25, 2025. There was a $5 entry fee, and you also had to bring your permission slip with a parent's signature.
Many students love Skate Night because it’s relaxing. A 7th grader, Emma Paredes, said, “I actually really like skating when I’m by myself because it makes me have some time by myself to process everything, so it makes me feel very relaxed.” She also said, "This shows how helpful and relieving Skate Night can be to students and teachers!
Skate Night had fun activities other than just skating. For example, they played the dance, ”Chacha Slide,” and everyone danced and giggled together. They also had a dice game where you had to hope the number you were sitting on didn't get called. Everyone loved these games, and I'm sure they would love to play them again when they come back.
If you are in Mr Couch’s P.E class and you attended Skate Night, you have the opportunity of earning a free mile pass, but there was a catch: you had to ask Mr. Couch’s mom, who was also at Skate Night, a secret message to earn the mile pass. The message was: “Pauly wants a cracker.” It was a silly message. Mr Couch said, “My favorite part was seeing my mom and you guys asking her for a mile pass.” Mr Couch loves Skate Night, which shows that teachers can also have fun at Skate Night.
Overall, Fitz students had an incredible experience at Fountain Valley Skating Center, and I would definitely recommend going!
