Fitz Intermediate held their annual Open House on Thursday, April 13 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Chorus, band, cheer, and mariachi band performed. There were food sales that went towards the school. Open House is one of the most exciting events at Fitz. It is a time when teachers and parents have the opportunity to connect and discuss their students.
Teachers had a thrill seeing their students perform. One teacher said, “It was a special moment seeing what my students have been learning.”
Although Open House was only 2 hours, those 2 hours felt like 30 minutes--everything went by very quickly. One parent stated, “I enjoyed coming to visit the school. My daughter loves talking about it, and I was glad I had the opportunity to see who my child is interacting with and who her teachers were.”
Open House was a special moment for many students. They had the opportunity to show off their talents and be an influence for upcoming Falcons that are thinking of entering. Teachers and parents were both proud and impressed with the performances that were displayed. “It's almost the end of the school year. It's always such a special moment to see what the students here at Fitz have been practicing and putting their hard work on,” a Fitz teacher stated. The end of the school year is emotional for some, so Open House was a creative way for people to enjoy a moment together and see how far they've come.
Days before Open House, Mr Magaña announced that if students attended Open House and had every teacher sign a form, then the student would have a chance to win a whole pizza. Many students showed up with their pink slips, but only 7 lucky students won the prize.
In conclusion, it was a privilege for the parents and everyone who made an appearance. It was an event that many will want to see again.
